Today, I let my dog outside to play. He shat on three cars, played dead in the middle of the street, and chased my neighbors' cat into a pool. When he came back into the house, he had a note taped to his back saying "IOU 1 lawsuit". FML

Thank you 42. That was the exact reason why I posted it. I never knew so much people on here would take this post to heart. It isn't that serious to hate me for it.

I find that the monthly payments on leasing a dog are quite reasonable, but the interest is just ridiculous.

Sorry but YDI for letting your dog outside without supervision or an electric fence.

I vote YDI. Either the dog wasn't fenced in or it hopped a fence to wreak havoc on the neighborhood. OP had to have known the dog's temperament and still let the dog outside anyway without supervision or restraints of some kind.

YDI. This is the reason my dogs are only allowed to play in the backyard and they're always on leash in the front yard.

What the hell were you doing not tying him up? It is obviously implied that you did not, as you allowed him to play dead in the damn street. You need to do your dog a favor and give him to a responsible dog owner. You obviously are not demonstrating common sense with animals.

What the ****, op? Why is your dog such an asshole?

Shock collars are cruel. It's like a torture device and it scares your poor dog. @#20

It zaps them when they do something they're not supposed. That's all it does. It even warns them when they get close to the fence by beeping. It's "cruel" for around 30 minutes because that's usually how long it takes them to figure out not to go near the beep. And even then it really just mostly scares them and hurts only a bit.

#31: I have a shock collar that has a vibrating setting. I tried it in myself and it feels like your cellphone going off in your pocket. It doesn't hurt the dog, it just surprises them.

@31, I have a chihuahua who can be a stubborn asshole. He mastered all the other training commands and tricks, except he refused to learn "no bark". I had tried every training method offered by trainers, he just likes to bark. A lot. And he knows he is not supposed to. I tried the citronella spray collars that dogs are nit supposed to like. I swear to god I saw him shrug his shoulders after it sprayed him once as if to say, "eh, not so bad", then go off barking with it spraying away in his face. I had to resort to a bark shock collar for small dogs. Before I put it on him, I tried it out on me, several times. It is like a big static electricity shock. It just startles the living daylights out of you. I mostly just have to show it to him now and he shuts up, but some days, dear god, the urge to bark he has...he will even grit himself up and bark through those shocks. So if a human and then a chihuahua can stand a shock collar, then no, they are not cruel. Not if you use them responsibly.

58, I so understand. I have a yorkipoo and he love barking. Sometimes they will suffer through things, like the collar, just to be able to bark. It's a good thing we love them like we do.

I feel bad for your neighbors and your poor dog. From what you wrote, you just unleashed your dog into the neighborhood with no regard for your neighbors or your dog's safety. Instead of just playing dead in the street, he could have been really dead in the street. WTF is wrong with you? You shouldn't have a dog from the sound of it and God help any children you may have if you can figure out how to breed. SMDH

OP is your dog clifford? Most dogs don't shit on cars. Also, why would you let him out to play in a non fenced in area? Most would be afraid of the dog running away or getting hurt. It sounds like you knew about stuff like this and did it anyway which is way worse.

Well, why weren't you watching him? You could've put him on a leash or at least stopped him. I would've brought him home after he shat the first time, then gone back with a baggie to clean it up and apologize to the neighbor if they saw it. If you can, I'd get a fence or find a dog park to take him to.

I'm sorry but YDI. What if your dog had hurt someone or caused an accident running around like that? If the dog had enough time to do all that damage they were obviously loose for some time and you didn't even notice until someone took it upon themselves to catch your dog and bring it home. That's pretty irresponsible on your part.
