Today, I was on the phone with my boyfriend. We were messing around and I always jokingly say, "You're adopted, nobody loves you!" to everybody. His reply, "That's pretty fucked up, I am adopted." He really was. FML

Today, I was sitting in my room when my dad walked in to talk. He said I'm not the son he'd hoped for, and that he'd been let down as a father. He said I should change the way I am so that he could love me more. It was the longest conversation I've had with my dad in years. FML

Today, I discovered that I'm adopted. How? After a great lunch, I asked my uncle how he'd made the salad dressing. He replied, "Haha! It's a secret family recipe, my dear!" I wouldn't have thought twice about it, were it not for my parents' shocked expressions, and the long, awkward silence. FML

Today, my grandfather was counting all the grandchildren he had and saying how fortunate he was to have all of us. When I pointed out that he'd forgotten to count me, he turned and said "You're adopted, you don't count as a real grandchild" FML

Whag a jack ass. We adopted our son. a parent giving their child up for adoption is the ultimate act of love. I cant imagine giving my child to another family so he/she could have a life I would be unable to provide. your step-father obviously loves you less than the family who gave you up. sorry op.

I'm pretty certain that I'm going to get thumbed down for this. But here goes. As someone who was adopted at birth, I'd have to say YDI. You hurt him and he returned the favor. You take shots at someone you need to expect to take shots back. Basically don't start mud slinging if you can't handle the dirt that comes back at you. Some people are calling him a jackass, IMO you're /both/ jackasses for starting this pissing match in the first place.
