Today, I'm being evicted from my apartment for not paying rent. My father is the on-site landlord, meaning I now have to move my stuff downstairs into his place, and hear every day how I'm a failure. FML

lol i forgot about that movie. but that was pretty awesome. but the army does do a lot of good for you. did for me anyway! anywho, if this dude is that much of a failure, at least a stuctured life will give him some discipline and teach him that there is truly nothing that's free....like freedom...(it costs a buck o' 5)

I know you're not calling me one. I was implying you expect me to be one. Everyone tells me I follow up jokes/insults with apologies or something. Although, usually I mean them sarcastically. I don't know if I completely understand this FML. Did you just flat out refuse to pay rent or do you have a job, lose your job or something and now you can't afford to pay rent? (Although, if you have a job and can't afford it...YDI for getting an apartment you couldn't afford). I mean, if you lost your job and can't get one that's an entirely different story, because that's understandable in the economy and all. If you are a teenager that decided to get an apartment to be "independent" but didn't get a job and refused to pay rent like everyone on here is assuming, then YdefinitetlyDI.

I agree with this - I don't know if this is a FYL or YDI, but given the state of the economy I'm guessing a FYL. I got laid off myself a couple of months ago and haven't managed to find a job in my field since. Glad my wife has had better luck staying employed...
