I did a 4 hour with my current pair, the ginger was spayed a bit too young and we think that's given her a weak bladder, any trip over 20 minutes she urinates out of anxiety. Then of course she's wet and hates that. So towel in the carrier for her and she does better. But both she and the calico were not fans of winding roads in Vermont. I've travelled with cats many times, so they hadn't eaten much that day. Some drooling, lots of panting (yeah, cats panting, mouths hanging open and heavy breathing, fish breath smell everywhere) but they calmed down after a while. Being able to see me and each other helped. Also calm mindless chatter in a low tone.
That's funny, my cat gasses when she's relaxed lol
I live in WA Welcome to Washington!
Throw them out
Lol I live in Arizona
You should train them young to avoid these kinds of horrible situations. I used to have a cat that I could take anywhere because he trusted me completely. He knew that he was safe as long as I was with him. I never needed a carrier because when I was walking, he would just sit on my shoulders and when I was in the car or the train, he would explore a little (but always stay close enough so that he could hear me if I called him) or just curl up and sleep. I really miss that little bastard. :'(
where in Washington? I live in Spokane
