Today, I made myself a snack. I took a seemingly clean plate from the sink which had been used earlier for scrambled eggs. Only after I'd made the snack did I remember I let my dog lick the plate clean. FML

Once I put something in the sink, I don't re-use it without first washing it. Kitchen sinks are one of the dirtiest places in the home. And I don't think dogs should be licking plates clean or given people food because it instills bad habits, like begging. YDI.

Even if your dog hadn't licked it, you should've at least rinsed it! You absolutely deserve it!

And it didn't occur to you to give it a quick rinse (at least) since it had been sitting in the sink?

Well as long as your dog wasn't in the backyard before eating it's own ---- before you let him/ her lick the plate. I think your OK their mouths are war cleaner than ours anyway.

dogs mouths are clean but you shouldnt feed them human food its very bad for them

this is one thing I can see happening but more so reusing the same dish before putting in sink. my dog demands to get to lick bowls/plates clean. to the point he starts to whine/push/jump on you. he's got us trained real well.

Youll be fine. A human mouth is dirtier than a dog mouth. Get over it

What is good for the dog is good for the master ?

I'm just going to say really quick that I took the plate from beside the sink, not actually in it. Also, my dog wasn't begging, she knows not to otherwise she doesn't get leftovers.

and how is this bad? i always let my dog lick me

i always wash anything i use thats from the sink i cant belive theres people who dont like ew
