Okay, to answer a few questions: yes, the flavors were the same. Yes, my parents knew I'd be baking two cakes. The reason they ate from each is that my grandma put the "family" cake in the fridge without telling anyone, so they assumed the remaining cake was for them (grandma is a little forgetful). No, I can't combine them, I used "half" but it's half for one and a bit more than 1/3 from the other. No, not putting laxatives, I love baking and they bought me more ingredients to use.

I typically do, but his mom wanted the top plain because she bought these really awesome Happy Birthday candles.
There's always a grandparent involved somewhere in an FML
Fyl, but at least they bought you new baking stuff. I guess next time try writing "family" on the cake in frosting and let them know you labeled it. Plus it'd turn it into a bit of a joke.
Did they eat the 1/3 or is it a 1/3 remaining? If it's a 1/3 eaten you can still make a whole cake. That really sucks though. I feel your pain.
How does this even qualify as an fml if the problem was resolved and you get to bake again which you love to do anyway?
Who are they?
OP's family.
Well if grandma and everyone else got confused about which cake to eat, I have to ask: Why didn't one of them say 'Happy Birthday'? They kinda couldn't have screwed that one up.

Put the other halves a together...they may not match but still it's a full cake...
Replace the missing part with icecream.
Notes. They're good for communicating.
I've never been good with fractions but two halves make a whole doesn't it? Put em together lol :p
Who does that anyway? I can't believe they couldn't just eat the cake you gave them. The nerve of some people...
Did you even read OP's response?

slam the remaining halves on to their faces. sort of like Tom and Jerry.
Let me guess, you made different flavors? Or they felt like being jackasses.
