Today, I made two cakes. One for my boyfriend's birthday tomorrow, the other for my family so they wouldn't eat the birthday cake. I came home to find they ate half of each. FML

The reason they ate from each is that my grandma put the "family" cake in the fridge without telling anyone, so they assumed the remaining cake was for them (grandma is a little forgetful). No, I can't combine them, I used "half" but it's half for one and a bit more than 1/3 from the other. No, not putting laxatives, I love baking and they bought me more ingredients to use.

Next time, ice "Happy Birthday" on one and "Enjoy!" on the other like someone suggested earlier. If Grandma forgets again, at least the writing will prevent another frustrating day. =) Happy Birthday to your boyfriend!

Fyl, but at least they bought you new baking stuff. I guess next time try writing "family" on the cake in frosting and let them know you labeled it. Plus it'd turn it into a bit of a joke.

Did they eat the 1/3 or is it a 1/3 remaining? If it's a 1/3 eaten you can still make a whole cake. That really sucks though. I feel your pain.

Take both halves and put them together and get one complete cake. If your good at cake decorating, you can maybe make it look like one flawless cake.

Well if grandma and everyone else got confused about which cake to eat, I have to ask: Why didn't one of them say 'Happy Birthday'? They kinda couldn't have screwed that one up.
