Today, I managed to get my 4-year-old son to agree that, "cigarettes are poop." I was a lot less proud of myself when he pointed at a 6-foot bodybuilder-type dude in the subway and yelled, "That man smells of pooooooop." FML

if your kid said that to me, i would've just laughed it off while crying on the inside.

He's young,I bet the guy didn't get offended.Young kids always say stuff like that

it's hilarious, but this isn't a long term way to get your kid to stay away from smoking. i suggest you be honest about it and the negative effects about the habit and have him understand that it isn't good for his health

#24 Really? You try explaining long-term health effects to a 4-year old. He'll have plenty of time to learn about the real consequences of smoking later on when he grows up. For now it's enough if he learns the bottom line, which is exactly what his father taught him: cigarettes are poop :)

24 - your heads in the right place, but remember the kid is 4 not 10

no i meant explain the health stuff later on when he understands, for now just say 'that's called smoking, okay? don't do that, it'll hurt your health'

My young cousin once pointed at a man and said "look! It's the fat controller!" because the guy looked like the fat controller out of Thomas the Tank Engine. That took a bit of explaining haha

Sounds to meet like you're doing a pretty good job parenting, to hell with him if he's a bodybuilder he shouldn't be smoking anyway.

Good intention, bad execution

When he would grow a bit and realize that's not true, he might doubt the other good things you taught him OP.

Well, did you get your ass kicked?

You lied to your son, what kind of parent are you

He wasn't lying though, cigarettes do smell awful.
