Today, I moved in with my new roommate. She's a vegetarian, and won't let me put my meat in the fridge because it will "contaminate her food". FML

Tell her her vegtables are contaminating your meat.

You all are freaking stupid. You're moving into her place and if you can't deal with her rules then go somewhere else. I totally understand the no meat in the fridge issue. It has germs and also there is the fact that it's her fridge and having animal in HER fridge might as well be her eating the meat herself. Get a fridge or get out.

Yeah, and veggies and tofu DON'T HAVE germs at all, right? BTW, just so you know, there are also air-tight boxes in which you can keep your stuff... And i suppose the meat isn't exactly from the pet cemetary or Chernobyl, os it now? BTW, do you know that your mouth probably contains more germs than the piece of meat in the fridge.

And how do you know who owns the fridge? What of this is a two bedroom apartment or rental house with a common fridge? And I suppose you never heard of people getting sick from e. Coli tainted raw spinach either. Cold hard fact for germaphohes - EVERYTHING is covered in bacteria. Everything. You can clean and scrub all you want, the bacteria will always win. Sorry but it's true.

I don't trust any woman who won't take my meat :)

Yeah, as a vegetarian, I feel this is pretty extreme. Totally wouldn't bother me - especially if it was kept on the bottom (to reduce drip-contamination). My roommate keeps meat in the fridge, not an issue — FYL. That said, it's her place and her fridge, so... deal with it. Also, everyone who (even jokingly) suggested intentionally contaminating her food with meat: You are all officially terrible people. F all you assholes. Y'all suck.

Where is everyone getting the idea that it's the roommate's apartment? It is entirely possible that they are moving in together into a new apartment, or perhaps they are dorm mates at college that got assigned to each other. Where does it say "I moved into my new roommate's apartment"? All I see is "I moved in with my new roommate" which, to me, says they just moved in together, IE, each paying half the rent. Even if the roommate was there first and the OP moved in second, if OP is paying half the rent it's not "the roommate's apartment" anymore, they both own it equally.
