Today, I ordered a Diet Coke with my meal from a fast food restaurant. Turns out, they didn't give me diet. My blood sugar spiked and I was sick for hours later. I'm a diabetic. FML

Wouldn't you know the difference?normal coke cans are red and diet coke cans are silver

Wow that really sucks... My dad is diabetic as well, and my mom has some problems with her kidneys, which means she can't drink diet soda. A waiter at a restaurant once swapped their drinks, they were both sick afterwards. It was a pain in the ass for all three of us

YDI for eating at McDonald's in the first place. Disgusting.

I'm diabetic too..... That's literally the worst luck when it happens.

I can kind of sympathise with you on this. I have to have soy milk in my lattes and such because I'm lactose intolerant. On more than one occasion I've ended up sick because they put regular milk in. FYL OP, and hope it doesn't happen again!

How does anyone deserve this he could of died

Okay so if you claim to be "diabetic" why are eating at a fast food restaurant when the food isn't healthy in the first place. fast food is greasy, fat, and processed. people who are diabetic have to be cautious about what they eat and fast food is never the answer for diabetic or not

So lots of people are diabetic and not all of them are on strict diet to lose weight, there are type types of diabetes. Type one is juvenile diabetes that you get usually before you're 18 and that is an autoimmune disease and has nothing to do with what you eat. The other type is type two and it is cause by the body not being able to create enough insulin for the person's size. So often with diet and exercise that type will go away completely. Every diabetic I know goes to a doctor every three months so they do not need you or anyone else telling them what to eat or how to live their life.
