wait, youve allowed your blood sugar to drop so low you passed out...three times...and yet its his problem? i think if youve got issues like this you might want to consider being prepared for them. seriously, who allows themselves to get into a situation like this?
I can't feel when my blood sugar drops that low until it's too late. I only feel woozy or dizzy/lightheaded when I have very little time left to get food.
many people don't feel this drop until it is too late especially as you get older of corse he had a monitor around he had no time to use it people who are uneducated about diabetes really shouldn't make comments
#62 Me too! I usually have very little "warning" time to get myself some food to prevent passing out. :P #68 It's not necessarily diabetes...
Steff and nerds are right on. Big surprise. ;)
Diabetes is not that melodramatic. Responsible patients continually monitor their sugar before and after meals, making sure that if they go too long between meals they have glucose tablets handy. OP gives responsible diabetics a bad name and the public a reason to decline driver's licenses to them. All assuming OP is diabetic, but it really applies to whatever he/she is.
99: Obviously OP should've done something after the first time. Maybe he did. Even if OP is diabetic, not all diabetics can control their blood sugar all the time. In Type 1 cases, if the pancreas is still dying, unexpected spikes and drops can happen very quickly.
92 - OP didn't state how much time was in between each of the pass-outs. It's possible OP corrected the problem the first time (in the morning, for example) only to have the same thing happen in the afternoon and evening. The post doesn't necessarily mean OP had it happen 3 times in an hour, for example.
@115 so why should the room mate care if this person is making no attempt to correct the issue themselves? is it not worse if it happens several times in a day? the room mate is not their mother, ready to drop everything because this person doesnt take care of themself. id be more annoyed if i were them and it happened several times in a day than an hour, cos then theyve messed it up 3 times in a 24 hour period so you know the next months or years are going to go much the same.
um you should probably be more careful with your blood sugar, especially if you're at home WTF just eat
last time I checked it's hard to eat while your on the floor passed out
I can't believe you would actually write that, when a person's blood sugar levels are low it is life threatening and you say that it made your day that the other person ignored it!
You roommate obviously has some new blood sugar level fetish. I would strongly consider switching roommates if possible.
Op you do realize if you're blood glucose drops below a certain level, you will not wake up by yourself?! Go eat something and stop being ignorant.

Did your butt hurt each time you woke up?
Damn OP, you need to keep a Blood sugar monitor nearby to prevent future incidents. Maybe you can keep it in a black pouch that looks like a change purse.
