Today, I played Call of Duty with my new flatmate. He continuously lost and was outraged that a girl beat him. It resulted in him shouting at me, claiming that since I'm Muslim, I must be part of the Taliban, which would explain my gaming skills. FML

Hey guys OP here! I loved reading the comments! So this was the first week or so he had moved in, so I set up my playstation 3 for us and the other three flatmates to allow him to get to know us and speak to us since he was new here! When I kept beating him, he started shouting stuff in Italian (he's a foreign student) and then at the end he started using my religion as the reason for my win! LOL. I also beat his ass on FIFA..but he had no ridiculous excuse there ! :Dp.s. he's hopefully moving out soon so its all good!

Oooo.... Sorry your new roommate is a jerk and racist. But look at the bright side, it's an opportunity to educate him on what's ok to say and think and what is not. Lets hope he's a quick learner. Maybe start out by teaching a game trick or something.

thankfully he is not a roommate!:) he just moved into the spare room near mine but is leaving again very soon! myself and the rest of the tennants have given up trying. .since he doesn't understand what he has said wrong each time he makes an offensive remark.

I'm going to go with YDI OP, what kind of Muslim girl with self respect has a male flat mate? If you don't respect your own beliefs then don't cry on FML when jerks like him don't respect them either. PS before the flaming starts I'm also Muslim so I do understand the beliefs.

Not sure why my post got moderated either.... Let me rephrase in a more hearts & flowers way. YDI OP, not for being an awesome gamer, but for putting your self in that haram situation to begin with. No one, especially a lady should ever have to deal with such uneducated nonsense, however, if you were not living with him, you would not have to endure his hate speech.

Sadly OP, quite a few men still can't process that girls also play video games. These men are often lacking in brains as well. He is not worth the effort.
