Today, I proudly informed my boyfriend that I am now a size 4, down from an 18, after months of dieting and exercising after he told me he would like me to be a size 6. He broke up with me for "not listening to what he wanted" and "being an overachiever". FML

Congrats on losing all that weight! You definitely deserve better than that treatment though.

congratulations on losing all the weight, and you shouldn't lose weight just for other people anyway, you should do it for yourself =]

He was looking for an excuse. Your weight wasn't why he broke up with you, I guarantee it. But no worries, you got rid of a douchebag and now you can go show off your size-4 figure and find a guy who deserves it.

I have been in a relationship someone who I was aware wanted to lose weight, but to me he was sexy the way he was. On the other hand, I would be happy for him to be at a weight he preferred and was healthier at. I think it is best to the weight one is happiest is, regardless of what society thinks.

Dear, I think I just wanted a reason to break up with you.

Am i the only one who thinks this is BS? She went from an 18 to a 4 in MONTHS. Well shit she needs to give her secrets to that Ruby woman on tv and a few million americans. You lost the weight of multiple people, that does not happen in months, unless you got your stomach stapled and even then. You probably starved yourself. I can not deal with liars, sorry to say i don't believe your sob story.

Why doesn't anybody notice she didn't say how MANY months? It could have been 9 or 10. I went from a US size 16 to a 10 in 4 months without starving or undernourishing myself; OP could reasonably have made her journey in a little over twice that time. Sure, it would be more realistic of her to say "nearly a year" in this case, but it's perfectly correct to word it as she did.

It's easier to be a small size and look proportional when you're a teenager and your body hasn't fully developed yet. Most women over 25 who are size 0-2 look VERY skinny while a teenager in that size looks normal and proportional. Just generally speaking. Your body looks way different in your teenage, early 20 years than later on. Oh and I was a 16 in March and wear a 4-6 now, it's possible to lose that weight with diet and exercise without stomach stapling. Not sure why the OP is drawing criticism for losing weight, seems like the biggest weight she had was her dude.

At least it's now easier to find a new guy.

I love how some people are calling "fake" on this. I've gone from a size 16 to an 8 in a month before (and no, that weight loss WASN'T healthy, it involved eating half a bowl of cereal a day and working out for 3 hours+ a day, but I was younger and desperate to be skinny, I'm more secure now) so it is possible to make those kind of dramatic changes to your body, especially if you're working out and toning up the weight you have rather than just trying to lose a certain amount. I know people who both fit a size four and one weighs like 30lbs more than the other...it's all about whether your weight is in your muscles and evenly spread out or in your fat, especially around the hips/stomach. I'm a bigger girl (not obese, thankfully, and I can still rollerblade and bike all over the place, so not in such bad shape) and I would NEVER call a skinny girl "aneorexic". That is SO hurtful and just wrong. Skinny girls should enjoy that they can show off their nice stomachs in midriff-baring tops and slim legs in a skirt, and big girls should enjoy showing off their booty in tight jeans or a little bit of cleavage. Work what you've got and don't waste time being jealous, ladies!
