actually WoWs map is quite detailed... there is a lot going on... however I also know WoWs map better than our country's... simply because I never look at an atlas but I see WoW everyday... and yes I have a life... I simply enjoy gaming

Same here. The main difference is I dont spend my days dragging a character through the different places in the real world.. so I dont see the maps nearly as often. This isn't an FML, that's just how we learn things.

Yeah, I wouldn't say this is an FML, either. The map of the USA is far more complicated than the maps in the game. And as another individual said, 's also about familiarity.
