No, we'll be remembered as much worse. Such as, referring everything to Micheal Jackson and Chuck Norris. Swearing, rapists, perverts, kidnappers, murderers, underage drinking, smoking, teenage pregnancy, and stupid people who couldn't care less about an education. Those are only a FEW of the MANY problems we will be remembered as, and you are worrying about a good series of books with sparkling vampires. IT'S CALLED IMAGINATION. USE IT SOMETIME.
No, thoes things have been going on since there was people and spoken language. Just far more prevelent now. Imagination is good. When a Dracula has a tragic accident with an 8yo girls makeup kit and a Hugh Grant movie, that is bad.
Stop being so butthurt, the books are complete failures in literature and consists mostly of descriptions of how handsome Edward is.. also glittering vampires? Geez..
50, i understand what youre saying. im not even attracted to rob pattinson, i think he looks like a stray dog most of the time, but im somewhat attracted to the character he plays. not because hes "gods gift to women" physically because hes really just an average looking guy. the attraction for me stems from the characters love and caring and gentleman-like attributes because (watch out everyone!) thats what I look for in a guy. i wish people would stop putting everyone who likes twilight in the same boat and insulting everyones intelligence by saying "theyre in love with sparkly vampires," or, "they need to figure out that he doesnt exist," etc. hell, im 18 and you wont ever find me getting pleasure from thoughts of edward/rob or jacob/taylor. if the majority of men would treat their girls on a regular basis the way edward treats bella, then he wouldnt be a big deal! its as simple as that.
You mean Edward, the creepy stalker, borderline-abusive, paedophile? If most men treated women that way, I would be scared.
yeah, i wish more men would treat women the way edward does. finding a controlling, possessive stalker just isn't as easy as it used to be :(
I'm not sure what you're trying to imply. Just because you show a distaste for something you can't analyze how it fits into your life? As a very large part of pop culture we are bombarded with information about it. I'm not saying that Twilight fans are in the wrong here, I'm just saying that it's not exempt from criticism and it's silly to say that if you hate something you should just ignore it. You are allowed to freely voice your opinions on how great the book is while the OP is equally justified in voicing their negative thoughts on the subject. And while people from all age groups might read Twilight, it is specifically targeted at the teen demographic. Sure, you've got your older folks who still read it, but the older folks don't embrace it the same way the youth does. A prime example would be poster #244. People like #244 are the reason why nobody will ever take you as a Twilight fan seriously. [R]obpatzluver is the difference between somebody who enjoyed the books and the obsessive fans the rest of us are complaining about.
agree
lol someone obviously took Twilight bashing personally. Only girls will be remembered for this. No self-respecting guy likes that shit nor are they expected to.
Ah, I'm twelve. I've read all the books and well, they suck. Edward is a control freak, Bella is a ditzy, clingy, and annoying person. Stephanie Meyer is a terrible author. As said before, it's too much like a creepy sexual fantasy. I think her dream consisted of the strong, smart, fast, GLITTERY(?!), vampire raping the slow, stupid, weak human but she's such a dumbass she thought she'd glorify it and make it into a shitty story. I think it got so popular because The Cullens don't blow the **** up when they get exposed to sunlight, they sparkle. I mean, the Underworld movies have vampires and werewolves. It's a love story, sort of. Why aren't they more popular? Because they're scary? Well, vampires are meant to be scary.
F all our lives for that matter.. :C
#50...really? A "gentleman"? A controlling, abusive stalker is a gentleman? If you read the books, which I sadly did, the whole damn story is drivel...with a heavy, heavy undercurrent of religious (Mormon) agenda. Those books smacked of a number of themes, most of which were pretty negative. Edward leaves, so Bella stops eating and hides in her house for weeks on end, too weak to move because she lets depression run her over and control her? Yeah, super awesome! Edward is too strong for Bella, so during sex she becomes battered and bruised and bloodied? Yay! Way to teach a generation of young girls already predisposed to self harm that its ok for others to harm them too! When Edward leaves, he still appears from time to time to keep tabs on that dumb broad...damn right! Boys, take special note, stalking and romance are interchangeable! And don't even get me started on Bella's being torn between Jacob and Edward being an allegory for a. male dominance within the Mormon construct and b. Bella's "addiction" to Edward being used to illustrate how men are supreme and dominant, with women groveling beneath them. Enjoy the books if you're into bad writing, fine. But people are taking this whole phenom way, way too far. I've actually heard girls discuss emulating some of Bella's self-harming behaviors to get a cute guy's attention. That's pathetic. I'm not one to blame the media (movies, news, videogames, et. al.), but I will damn sure blame bad parenting, a subjective agenda, and the propensity of teens (and even older women) to be fundamentally stupid about realworld concepts. Gah.
A+. Twilight is the most sexist piece of crap I have ever made the mistake of reading. I'm terrified of how all the preteen girls obsessing over it will turn out. Probably married and pregnant at 19 to an abusive man, "just like Edward and Bella!!!!11111eleventy-one"
Twilight is the bane of this society.
Well said D: Doom awaits us!
it's purty much true cuz of retards who are in love with the fake vampires and werewolves
Umm... I'm a girl, I like twilight, I read the books, the movies are okay, this FML is stupid, and I'm still interested in humans. I do not ********** to twilight. There are the handfull of incredibly obsessed girls that scrutinize guys on their looks just because they aren't vampires or whatever, but that's really not true for most. Jeez.
probably came from the part in the book (or movie) when the vampires go outside and, well, sparkle?
twilight is like a plague, but it managed to successfully brainwash most teenage girls in every country with a novel that was written by an author that repeats herself over and over. i can't even count how many times bella sighed...
I love you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it :]
hey at least we won't be remebered as the guys who had roman orgys o wait.
Some of you people are taking this FML too seriously. Get the redwood trees out of your vaginas, FFS.
