It's the cousin's fault. He should have delivered the gift by hand, put a return address sticker - anything to make it clear it's from him. For all the OP knew, it was a well-crafted scam. Personally, i'm not going to waste my time reading scam/junk mail. Another note: The letter said the OP "won" something he didn't even sign up for. Classic indicator of junk mail. Any legit person *should* know enough not to follow the same patterns. This is also not really an FML. Tickets can be reprinted and checks can be rewritten.
