Someone give this man an award.
It's still an article on science. A hoax, but still under the subject you requested. Not her fault.
A hoax is not science related. It is idiotic imbeciles like you and this "scientific article" that makes people lose faith in science. Science is entirely fact based. In order to become accepted as science a hypothesis must be proposed. It is then studied and tested rigorously with the intent of disproving it. After several hundred test that all come to the same conclusion scientist deem it a scientific theory. This ebola zombie shit is barely a hypothesis. Infact it was never studied of observered carefully. Some uneducated dumbass who wanted to start panic purposefully shaded the truth to vaguely fit with his story. I would have slapped the stupid right out of you but Im afraid its contagious.
There are articles about it. In all honesty depending on the quality of the essay it should receive a grade not a 0. Unless of the essay was absolute. Trash but not because of the article picked
The basis of the entire essay was a trash article. No matter how well written the essay was garbage.
If most of you guys keep up with your current events this happened!! no joke... they have studies going on right now!
They never became zombies they were in comas. The article in question was a hoax.
Perhaps the article could have been used, but not in the way The child chose to do it. If the kid could base the essay on how scientific facts are lacking and give it that sort of insight, such a work can fit the criteria. The article is scientific in some matters if you look at the article in a unique form of light. It could be a incredible assignment if the child went as far as to show both the science involved and the lack there of. Science isn't all facts, there are theories as well. Theories are part if not a large sum of what science is. This hoax could be a theory, one just needs to prove the likely-hood or unlikely-hood of the scenario. Now, when turning the attention onto the mother, she is wrong in demanding her daughter get an "A." Instead, if I were the mother, I'd have my daughter prove her case as to why the essay should be accepted as a qualifying essay and why she should at least get a grading of her work even if written off a hoax (if she still gets a failing grade, she will need to redo the assignment for a lower grade or make up for it by doing well on other assignments).
Theories in science aren't guesses. Those are hypothesis. A theory is tested many times to try and disprove it. After 100s of experiments and observations it is made into a theory. If you don't understand science please don't ever try talking about it.
I would have at least give. Him a C-. Thats pretty funny. Have a sense of humor.
Never joke about an education. There are too many idiots like you around as it is teachers used to teach now they prepare to tests then let them go. You earn passing grades they aren't handed to you.
While I think it's terrible for a parent to demand you change a child's grade, I can't help but think that the student thought the article was real and that rather than giving her a 0, you should have evaluated the effort she put into the assignment. We all know that the idea of Ebola victims rising from the dead is silly but with all of the rumors and confusion going around about it I don't blame her for thinking it could be true. Overall, I'm sorry about the nasty parent but I would reevaluate the student's work.
Partial credit for doing it at least
They didn't do it at all. Thats like me writing an essay on cheese and turning it into my music teacher instead of the essay on Beethoven I was asked for.

It's one thing to politely ask you to allow his daughter to redo the assigned work with a proper article, and it's another thing to "demand" a near-perfect score for nowhere near acceptable work...
It really amazes me how ignorant some people can be.
