Today, my family cancelled coming for Christmas again for the third time in four years. I only get to see my son for a few hours in the morning, then I'll be on my own the whole time. Again. FML

Thanksgiving sucks

Today, I spent Thanksgiving alone. I'm not close to my family, I'm the black sheep but my sister said she would come over. To my surprise, she ended up going to my family's', where I'm not wanted. My boyfriend went to his family's, so I spent the whole day alone. He'd even took my dog. FML

Today, my family decided to break tradition and wake up at midnight to open presents. I didn't find out until I went downstairs to get a glass of water in the middle of the night, and found wrapping paper and empty boxes everywhere. FML

Today, my husband still hadn't gotten me anything for Christmas, so I bought and wrapped my own presents. Then I had my husband write 'to me, from him' on them so that I won't be embarrassed in front of my family on Christmas when it comes time to open presents. FML

For all those people calling OP "ungrateful", do each one of you ***** even have a brain? In the situation she was in, WTF should she be grateful about? Being UNGRATEFUL implies that she received or experienced something positive that she or other people could be grateful about. Would any of you be grateful for the opportunity to sit through the opening of presents in SILENCE? Would you be grateful if your BF/GF invited you to spend a boring-ass X-mas with his/her boring-ass family and not even give or do anything to make the experience better? No? Alright then.
