Today, I saw a letter from Geneseo that invited me to apply to the honors college. Excited, I wrote the required two page essay on how I am organized. I then saw the strict deadline was March 15th. My little brother thought it would be funny to hide my mail. For the past seven weeks. FML

Today, my parents gave me a letter they'd forgotten about since late last year. In it was a $30,000 scholarship to a local master's program with an application due date of two weeks ago. FML

Today, I was cleaning my father's study room and wondering why I did not receive my acceptance/rejection letter from a college I really wanted. I found the acceptance letter, on his desk, also approving of a full scholarship. The deadline to confirm was a month ago. FML

Today, I was accepted to the college of my dreams. Then I checked the address. Turns out, the letter was meant for my neighbor. I was actually denied. FML

Today, I got a large envelope from a college I applied to earlier. My mom, expecting big news, made my family gather round as I opened it. It ended up being a letter of rejection from not just that school, but all three campuses of the state college. FML

Today, I received yet another rejection letter from a college I'd applied to. After crying for a week about how lousy I felt, my older sister gave me all 6 of the acceptance letters she'd been hiding. Turns out she's been forging rejection letters and keeping the real ones in her room. FML

Today, I went to an Honors Convocation for my school. I received a letter a few weeks earlier telling me I received an award. Surprised and proud, I invited my family to join me to see what award I was receiving. I couldn't find my name in the program. I was invited by mistake. FML

@72 Asking for attention the right way is fine, asking it for the wrong way deserves a beating. I am the oldest and have 2 younger sibling, so I can safely say that. If the younger brother does not get a proper punishment aka beating, then he may never learn what's right and that there are consequences.

It could have just been that one day the little bro took the mail, and he had been hiding it for 7 weeks. I'm also willing to bet OP is in high school if they're living at home and applying for college, which means they probably don't get much mail. At all.

Your parents should ground him, for 7 weeks. Haha. In all seriousness though, check your email more thoroughly, they coulda sent you some info about the app and essays. Lots of schools are moving toward more non-paper systems.

@ # 75, even though its been said before, i'll say it again for your benefit. A High School Student doesn't often get mail. For example Other than School Work, in a year I'll get 2 letters regarding my bank account, and occasionally some general junk mail.
