Today, I saw a text message on my husband's phone from a "Candice", asking him if he and his wife are still separated, followed by an invitation to spend the night. I never knew we were separated in the first place. FML

UghLet me throw a possible scenario into the mix: Candice works with Mr. OP, and that is why he has her number in his phone. OP and Mr. OP have had a rocky relationship lately, bad feelings on both sides. Mr. OP has made comments about his unhappiness to his buddies, maybe over a beer or two The stress of the situation has started to take its toll on Mr. OP and people at work have started to notice, and word has slowly circulated through his work place. Where facts were not known, speculation was created, and Candice had heard, through the grapevine, that Mr. OP was separated for his wife and living on Joe's couch. Candice has had a crush on Mr. OP, and decided to take a shot. Mr. OP was at home trying to work through things with his wife when she intercepts the text from Candice.

I like it. I can spin a scenario, too: He's trying to get into Candace's pants, and she asks if he's separated before jumping the gun. Mine's a little bit less movie-worthy, but it's definitely more likely given I didn't just pull a random set of circumstance out of my ass.

Ah the old "my wife and I are separated because she (insert reason)" to get some sympathy and more. Classic! Real talk though. Your husbands an ass and another statistic to the "men who cheat" chart. C'mon guys, this is one thing men don't wanna win!
