Today, I saw my girlfriend at the store and joyfully greeted her. She got really mad at me - it was her identical twin sister, who I still cannot tell apart from my girlfriend. We've been dating for three years. FML

Tell her that you're your identical twin and get mad at her for mistaking who you are.

Im friends with 2 different sets of twins and I've known them since middle school and I still can't tell em apart sometimes so I know how awkward it can be lol

You need to get on her good side -- she's your back-up plan. Your girlfriend ***** up and, boom! you can replace her with an exact replica and start over again! Then, after a while the sister screws up and boom! you bring the contrite original girlfriend back in.

I knew twins for a year from school and I could tell them apart, and I never saw them outside of school.

It's not my first language either, yet my English is just fine. 14 just happens to be unwilling to learn. That's just the way he is. --- I don't understand why the sister got angry though. I was constantly mistaken for a girl when I grew up, yet I've never made a big deal out of it. Did you say something which could've upset her?

You should know by now? Surely one has a freckle that the other doesn't! Or I'm sure the walk differently, there would have to be heaps of differences, they're sisters not clones!

Technically they could be considered clones, since, you know, their genetic code is the EXACT SAME. (Sure, some of the genes could happen to express slightly differently, but it's entirely possible that the ONLY physical difference between the two are their fingerprints.)

So the op should just finger print them before engaging in any conversation or greeting

#105, the first time I read it fast and missed the word "print." I got woozy!

Oh man! My mind went there too! Lol

Not gonna lie. Me and my twin sister sometimes dress exactly the same just to mess with some people.

I know a few pairs of identical twins and one group of triplets, and I could never understand why they would have the same hairstyles and wear each other's clothing, then bitch whenever someone mistook one for the other... I mean, for god's sake, it's not like we really think the same person, we're just not wizards... And it definitely doesn't help when you only know one twin well!

Good point 84-- OP would only know one twin well.
