Today, I saw the blueprints for my family's new house. My room is half the size of the room next to it. The room next to it is my step mom's walk-in closet. FML

How sad. I think you need to have a sit-down conversation with your father. Hope you're going off to college soon.

That is so hoed out Maybe your parents were joking when they told you which room is yours? And GODDAMN your step mom must have a lot of clothes/shoes/accessories

don't think of it as your room is too small, just think of hers as too big and yours is JUST RIGHT :)

I think it's really sexist to assume that the step mother had no money of her own when she got married to the OP's father. Maybe they are equal contributors in building the new house? Either way, no one should have enough clothing to fill a closet bigger than a bedroom of any size.

**** , that sucks . maybe you should trade .

maybe you could sleep in the closet!!

Here's an idea. When you get older buy a house that happens to have one room that is particularly small. Smaller than your soon to be room. Then anytime your parents come to visit tell them that is the guest room, you can sugar coat it like "The guest room I prepared just for my loving parents"...ect. Othertimes you can use it as a room for a pet.

Here's a better idea: Live in the closet. Then, when you turn 18, "come out of the closet" and tell your parents that you're gay. They'll ask "Why son, WHY?!" and you'll say "YOU KNOW WHY!" **** their lives? hahahaha.

Listen...There is no excuse as to why your step mothers closet is twice the size of your room!!! It doesn't matter if you going off to college tomorrow...its ridiculous. Now I hope you have a plan to take back that closet and add it onto your room so then not only will your step mother be out of a closet...you will have a decent sized room! I honestly hope you dont just let this slide by...definitely a fmylife moment there...

All these people saying you're complaining about something you should be grateful for are missing the point. I'm in college and still living at home, probably till I graduate, because it's much cheaper and I live close to school. It's pretty lame that your parents did that, and it's absurd anyway because there's no reason anyone should have a closet that is bigger than any given bedroom. #34, I hope you never have kids.

I'm so tired of hearing spoiled rich brats whine and complain.
