Today, I sent my boss a link to a website I thought would answer a simple question she'd asked. Turns out, yes, the site did answer her question, but it also had some very suggestive ads on it. Apparently I'm the only person in the office who uses adblock. FML

Today, my boss was using my computer and tried to copy and paste a website URL. It must not have copied first, because it pasted a URL to a porn site. I think I should start looking for a new job. FML

Today, I'm in my third week at a new job. Using an online service our company recommends, I accidentally downloaded a virus that is now working its way through our website, randomly sending our customers Viagra ads via our email. I personally had to tell the founder of the company. FML

Today, I explained to my boss what clickbait is and why it's bad practice to use it when writing online. After my explanation, she ordered me to go ahead with it, saying it's "exactly what we need". This person is the marketing communications director for a major multinational company. FML

Today, my dad asked my help with a computer problem. Whenever he logged on Facebook, every single advertisement appeared to be hardcore porn. I had to awkwardly explain that these ads are based on his browsing habits. FML

Today, discovered that all the viruses I have gotten on my computer at work haven't been from anything I've done, but because my boss has secretly been using it after hours to download or watch porn so he wouldn't risk getting a virus on his own computer. I've lost 3 major projects due to this. FML

Today, my boss yelled at me for having Facebook open at work. That's fine, I closed it and continued on with my work. In a meeting later on I could see the reflection of my boss's laptop screen in a mirror behind her desk. For two hours, I watched her scroll through her Facebook feed. FML

The website the OP sent her boss to had some nasty ads (Probably for **** websites or something similar.) The OP didn't know though because she has adblock (which meant she couldn't see the nasty ads)

Ahaha. Adblock is one of the first things to go on when I help people with their internet. Oh well. No harm done hopefully OP. Those ads switch out everywhere like crazy.

You deserve it... being somewhat technically minded and expecting others to also have even a portion of your experience shows you have a lot to learn... only suggest sites where your Adblock is not showing "blocked ads" icon.

What is this Evony you speak of? I had something similar once. I was at a girl's house, and looked up something on some torrent site, and it turned out she didn't have any ad blocker. That was also the moment I first found out that it was full of **** ads. Slightly awkward, but I just ignored them, and so did she.

i am definitely getting adblock. i am on a very sexually-oriented website- a forum about kinks and fetishes. while i do enjoy TALKING about this stuff, it'd be great to block the annoying porno ads. i want to chat without sex toys being thrust into my face all the time. as well as: just explain it, can't be too difficult. install adblock for them.
