My dog is incredibly well trained/obedient and occasionally stuff like this will still happen. I was once laying on the couch with my husband eating a BLT, my husband was talking and distracting me and my dog took a bite out of my sandwich while i had it in my mouth. Just because the dog got over excited about food this one time doesn't make OP a bad or irresponsible dog owner.
