I dated a guy like that. But he said I didn't have anything following me. But he had a spirit following him. I got out of that quick!
He's read the book 'scary story's to tell in the dark' too much! There is a story about a black dog that follows these two boys around. After they see it, one dies and it goes away. The other boy lives a long time, he finally sees it again and he dies(I can't remember if one of them had a black dog as a pet). The whole book has some weird stories. As long as you don't take someone's big toe and use it in a stew, you're fine. But seriously, he's weird. I just had to get rid of a person in my life that claimed my house was haunted and I have demons inside of me and said if I don't find Jesus I'll rot in hell.
Harry Potter much?
It's Sirius black
Well, many people believe in Spirits and some can even see them. Weather you believe it or not, he does and there isn't really anything wrong with it unless it goes too far, and you have to be the judge of that. If this is the only thing "wrong" with him, its not worth losing a guy over as long as its not something he talks about ALL the time. On the other hand, you just started dating, so if it really bothers you then break up with him. It won't hurt too much. Up to you, but I don't really thing its a big deal.

I'd be more worried about the "black dog" following you.
That is siriusly grim.
