Today, I started my first day working at a toddler day care center. At one point I decided to play "got your nose" with one of the kids. It turns out this kid has a physical birth abnormality on his face. I got his nose... his prosthetic nose. FML

I literally laughed out loud because of this. As terrible as that is, I found this hysterical

Poor kid, I wonder who picked his nose? Clearly it was done well enough to pass as a real one.

Didn't anyone take the time to let you know about the kids with special needs BEFORE you began to interact with them? Whoever was in charge of training you needs to be re-trained themselves!

Just because he has a facial deformity, doesn't mean he is special needs. They probably should have mentioned it, maybe the parent had never told the people in charge because they don't want their child being treated differently because of it. They also probably didn't expect to have someone grabbing their childs face while at play care.

I maintain the guy should have been told, just as he would need to know if a kid wore a hearing aid, had a glass eye or had a colostomy, etc. Because things can & do happen, as this incident absolutely proved.

If Op didn't another kid would have eventually pulled it off somehow. Kids don't know how to keep their hands to themselves so it was bound to happen. That is definitely something the parents or other staff should have let Op know.

hahahahaha holy shit XD i would've screamed

Well, at least you didn't pull his real nose off. That would surely get you into trouble.

Oh shit! Every child there must have cried and screamed. :S
