Today, I started my period. Every time I try to open a tampon, my dog goes crazy thinking it's one of his treats. Now I have to open them with my hair dryer on. FML

Why not open a lot of them while the hair dryer is on? That way you'll have them when you need them and won't have to keep using the hair dryer.

Tampon packaging is loud and dogs have good ears. She's probably in the bathroom with the door closed like a normal person and the dog's scratching and barking at the door.

What the hell commenters? All y'all asking "what about a door?" and "why are you changing your tampon in front of your dog?" have clearly never been around dogs that exhibit such behaviors before. Dogs have amazing hearing, OP probably does close the door and the dog sits outside and once a dog is worked up it's hard (as well as a pain) to get them to calm down again.

Ain't nobody got patience for that either #31. My friend's dogs trigger sound was (usually) people knocking at the front door. Once they started it took a while for them to calm down again. I'm honest to god blown away by how many people are saying to close the door... That's actually something I would expect my 8 year old cousin to suggest.

I would say put hot sauce on it or one of his treats to make him stop but he might not want a treat anymore and he could swallow the tampon, you could try it but it might just make things worse. You could go to the pet store and see if it has a spray but you might not want to put that in you. Sorry OP maybe try to get the dog to a trainer.

I think you need to train your dog on that. That not a good thing for a dog to realize. Try putting the treats in a bucket and only give them to him once in a while.
