Today, I started taking my anxiety meds. Without them I can't function because I'm constantly fighting off panic attacks, but with them I can't function because I get crippling headaches and heartburn and feel tired all the time. FML

Ask for a different prescription, sorry OP

Sorry OP. Maybe try consulting with the prescribing doctor for an alternative solution

I swear some meds hurt you more than help you. It's sad. Good luck op

Ooh medicines can be tricky :/ Hopefully you've got an appointment booked to review your medication already - but don't worry if not, there's lots of medication out there to give a go. And if the effects are bad, maybe you could get some relaxants to take when the anxiety sets in? Good luck, and I hope everything goes well.

Definitely talk with your doctor. My anxiety used to be an absolute crippling nightmare. I have improved over time and have since been able to use less potent medications.

Maybe a life change is what you need not medication. I had such bad stress and anxiety that I developed stress induced TMDJ. That was about 8 months ago and it signaled I really needed to make a change. I've never been happier now. Best of luck OP I hope you work it out.

Maybe a lower dosage or a different prescription

I had a lot of side effects with my anxiety medicine but they slowly went away. Try to hang in there but if it doesn't get better go back to the doctor :)

I have anxiety and panic disorder, and I don't take anything, because medication only masks the problem. I was afraid to leave the house at the worst point. I have actually improved without medication through Exposure Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (mindfulness). These have been invaluable. You can do it without medication OP!

Wow shaming people who need meds to function is ridiculous. I'm happy that you could do it without but maybe the OP has tried everything else or need the meds as a starting point. Whatever works to help an individual is the right thing for them. Saying 'i did it without meds and so can you!' is erasing that persons experiences and problem. :/ (personally I tried to handle my bipolar without meds for so long and it ****** me up and my life because I was scared people would judge me for needing meds, so yeah. each approach is different for each person).

Ugh, I hate when my medication that benefits me also hurts me. I had some pain meds for my stomachaches, but it also made me extremely dizzy and made me throw up.
