Today, I stepped on the MacBook Air I purchased 4 days ago. The screen snapped in two, and I didn't buy insurance because I promised myself I would be "extra careful." $3500 well spent. FML

How can you step on your macbook if you are "extra carefull"??? Putting it on the floor, or maybe you did dance on the table?, isn't carefull at all!

YDI for leaving your computer on the floor. Never thought someone could be that stupid

YDI for buying a $3,500 laptop.... And for buying a mac.

I would just spend $299 on a Netbook for replacement. Does same thing at less than 1/10 the cost.

just buy the insurance now and activate it now and then fix it, unless the computer is totally ******, then sucks for you

Hey, if you purchased the laptop on a credit card (which I hope you did), almost all credit cards provide purchase protection for new items purchased, providing automatic insurance for items if they're damaged or stolen in the first 90 days. Call your credit card company. They'll help you out. They'll either get it fixed, replaced, or refund the damage.
