Today, I texted my mom asking how she was doing. Apparently she's great, and on her honeymoon. I didn't know she was getting married, or that my parents had just gotten divorced. FML

or maybe the parents should reach out to the OP more often. it isnt just a one way thing. and if its such a thing like divorce and remarrying, i think thats the parents job to tell their kids as soon as possible.

alternatively, while it's sad, I assume OP is a grown up and leads her own life. is it that big of a deal. it's mom's life and not really OP's business. -I'm not saying it doesn't suck or that OP didn't deserve to know.
