Today, I told my boyfriend I wouldn't be able to get any time off work to go to Mexico with him, and that we'd have to get our tickets refunded, and reschedule. He said not to bother, and that he already had someone else in mind to take with him. FML

Today, I found out the time I'd requested off for a trip in 2 months, that my boss said that I could go on, wasn't fully processed, just in case he decided I couldn't go. He told me the second part after I'd bought no refund tickets for shows for both me and my girlfriend. FML

Today, my boyfriend gave me an ultimatum: either cancel my amazing work trip or stay with him. I chose the trip and he assured me he’d be gone by the time I got back. His issue? My boss thought it’d be cheaper to get an AirBnB instead of getting us all hotel rooms, and that men are also going. FML

Today, I had to cancel plans to go to the movies with the guy I've had a crush on for months due to a sudden case of the flu. This was already rescheduled from yesterday, when I had to cancel due to bad weather (after he had already left home). He thinks that I'm just making excuses not to see him. FML

It seems that you (the OP) originally planned to go with him, but because of a change in your plans that he couldn't have anticipated, he decided to go with someone else. So what? Are you so selfish that your boyfriend's life has to revolve only around you? Does he have no right to spend time with his other friends? Make some friends yourself. Spend time with them, go on vacation with them, whatever--you'll be glad you did.

I really thought that most airlines won't allow you to transfer a ticket to someone else's name so the OP will still need to cancel her ticket. If the BF is planning on taking someone else, then a new ticket in that person's name needs to be purchased. Am I right? Wow, who's he taking, I wonder?

It varies based on the airline. Though if it's not same day I'm sure most airlines will bend over backwards to try to give you an equal valued seat in exchange in order to keep your business.
