Today, I told my mom I broke up with my boyfriend because he wanted to have sex and I wasn't ready. Her reply? "Well, you can't stay a virgin forever." FML

YDI cause you know she's right. Plus, all you have to do is say no. If sex is ALL he wanted THEN break up.

idk why you broke up with him just cbc he wanted to do it. life has literally gone to men have no say in sex bc theyll just seem abusive

Yeah I agree. If he was pushing her into doing something she want comfortable doing and couldnt respect her wishes enough to wait, why stick around with someone who doesn't care enough about you to understand your feelings? Today it could be about sex, tomorrow about who knows what.

Wow. Lol. And I thought I had problems with guys.. Lol

That's what you get for having a conversation with your mom that should've been had with a friend.

good on you. if you're not ready, you're not ready. in my experience, and i'd just like the clarify that my mum and i are really close and get along really well, mothers can say the most unsupportive things without meaning. Probably made more harsh because we expect at least our mothers to always support us.

Why did you break up over it? Did he try and force himself on you or did he go on and on about it for months? You could have stayed together and waited till you were ready.
