Today, I took a shower after I finished typing an important essay I've been working on for days. My computer illiterate mum shut the computer down when I was gone, without saving a thing. When I confronted her, she yelled at me for "wasting electricity". FML

Today, I accidentally left my bedroom light on all day. When I got home, my mum screamed at me for wasting electricity. This is the same woman who leaves the TV on all day while she’s at work, all so our dogs have something to watch and won't be “bored”. FML

Today, my mother called me "wasteful" because I left the refrigerator door open and that "electricity money doesn’t grow on trees." This is the same person who lets my little sister have her light on all night, because she’s scared of the dark. FML

I will admit, that sucks. But you know that little icon that looks like a Floppy DIsk? Yeah. You're supposed to click that to SAVE, and it's a truly BRILLIANT concept to hit that once a page, at the very least - just incase some shit like this happens. And they make it easier on you! "Ctrl+S" equals Save!

this exact same thing happened to me, except it was my grandma. of course i was only like 10 years old so i didn't know about saving. and for those who can't seem to fathom how a computer illiterate person turned off a computer, it's called "pulling the plug", and anyone born in the 20th century knows how to do that, and if they are so old the don't know about pulling a plug, then they are probably a vampire, thus you would have alot bigger problems then losing an important essay.
