Today, I took a video of a fellow employee doing nothing but watching YouTube videos at work. When I showed the video to my boss, hoping he'd be reprimanded, I got fired for operating video equipment on company grounds. FML

That's brutal. Perhaps anonymity is the way to go.

So apparently, for most commenters here it's wrong to report someone who isn't doing any work. Kinda says a lot about the state of the world...

It depends on your job, but most office environments have a lot of down time. Unless you're data entry/processing it's not possible to be working all the time.

They didn't "report" someone. They wasted their entire day to try to get someone in trouble. OP could have easily just told their supervisor what their coworker was doing so the supervisor could investigate.

*Clap* *Clap* *Clap* *Clap* *Clap* I know, seriously, these comments are filled with stupid people! So is America!

Interesting to see an FML almost evenly split between FYL (2948) and YDI (2702)...though the comments themselves are mostly from YDI'ers.

Your coworker was watching videos and you were sitting there recording doing no work either. Hypocrite much?
