Today, I took my girlfriend to meet my parents. My dad thought it'd be hilarious to act surprised and ask me if I'd already dumped the girlfriend I introduced him to yesterday. She slapped me and stormed out of the house before my dad could tell her it was a joke. FML

well, she's a sensitive one. She should have listened to the end of the joke or waited a second to see if he was being serious. I would say you are better off without her if that's how she reacts to just one joke without talking to you about it or talking to your dad about it. relationships are based off communication, and, she lacked the communication part. I'm sorry OP, hopefully she'll come around and talk to you or let you talk to her, but if she doesnt, I wouldn't blame your dad. she wouldn't be right for you anyway. And you'll find a better girl who understands your dad's jokes or at least puts up with them.

Oh, is sabotaging your child's relationship because you felt like making a joke awesome? Okay then. Yep, father of the year material right there. I guess you wouldn't mind if someone jokingly told your partner that you were cheating on them and they left you.
