Sometimes when I'm angry or upset, I would tell my boyfriend I want to break up with him. He'd say no and tell me to get back to him when I'm more rational. Your post doesn't really tell me if you were just saying that in the heat of the moment or if you're truly fed up.

That's marvelous. When I was in high school I had a friend who was dating a guy who was totally obsessed with her, and when she tried to break up with him, he said, "No thanks. I don't think so." These people are out there, and most of them are terrifying. ♥

Guys like that are scary as ****. I don't know why more people aren't taking this seriously-ish. =/ If he's not gonna let her break up with his, which is really the only thing someone can do related to a relationship without the others permission/cooperation, then what's gonna happen 20 years down the road? If a guy tells you you're not allowed to break up with him, he's also gonna tell you you're not allowed to do this, and this and this. and that you HAVE to do this and this and this. I'd say 75% chance this mo-fo boyfriend of hers turns out to be abusive and a spazzoid.

Also, anyone in this situation is a spineless ninny. It doesn't take a lot of backbone to dump someone. Doesn't take anything to just... not. answer. the. phone. Or block them however they may contact you online (Or even just ignore them) And asking them to leave if they come over to your place. The reason creeps like that exist is because some girls are still spineless enough to 'do as they're told.' Kinda makes me sick.

GROW A PAIR, WOMAN. First off, no no no no no NO WAY do you need to get the cops involved. You simply say "It's over" and walk away. Then, you don't answer his calls, messages over the nternet (Or, if he's REALLY old-school, letters) or anything else, and when he comes up to you, say 'Hello. How are you handling the breakup?"and then ignore him. Keep ignoring him, and get him out of your life. If you live together, I'd suggesting finding your own place right away. Guys like that usually do turn out to be psychos.

#295 is probably one of the best comments ever posted. I like this FML for two reasons, one being that people are taking it way too seriously and forgetting the fact that if they don't get married, they're gonna break up. Other than that, they'd work something out. Take it easy... Another reason I love this FML is because of the FML above it on the original page: "Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. As everything was ending, I tried to save the relationship by telling her how much I cared about her. Her response? "Please stop. You're gonna make me feel bad." FML" Two different perspectives.
