Today, I wanted to go clubbing with my friends. I started drinking at home to save on the price of drinks, instead I fell asleep on my couch. FML

Isn't drinking at home before you go out to drink one of the signs of alcoholism?

you idiot! why drink at home then DRIVE to the club?!!! you wouldn't only be putting your life in danger, you'd be putting everyone around you in danger!! SMH..YDI

Where did it say they were driving? They could have called a cab, been picked up by a friend, taken the train, rode the bus, or perhaps walked depending on where they live. With the many different options available to people it is moronic to just assume that they were going to drive after drinking.

I hit YDI as soon as I read the word "clubbing."

if ur drunk, how are u going to drive to the club?

man op I do the same thing FML too.

So, drinking at home with the intentions to save money and be drunk at the club, which means you have to drive drunk to the club. Driving drunk means your more likely to get into an accident, and not save money and if your in an accident, you probably won't make it to the club, which means mission not accomplished. I don't think you thought this one through very well.

Maybe he was going to take PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION In most big cities or college towns (at least a lot of them) there is decent, affordable public transportation and taxi systems that many people use to get to bars/clubs so they don't have to worry about having a designated driver

then maybe he would be arrested for public intoxication

YDI for thinking you need to be drunk to go out and have a good time. Obviously your friends weren't picking you up, how exactly did you plan to make it safely to the club? While I suppose it's possible you were planning to take a cab, wouldn't have be more logical to find a cheaper transportation method instead of a cheaper drink option?

They could have been walking or taking a bus also both of which are pretty damn cheap ways to travel. The train is usually pretty cheap too if they live in an area which has that as an option.

like i said to the person who replied to my post(me#49, them #57) what about being arrestted for public intoxication?

In order to get in trouble for public intoxication you have to be drunk and loitering, causing a disturbance, or being a danger to yourself or other people. If you are just walking home, then it's not a problem, provided you aren't drunk enough to be falling over every few steps because that counts as causing a disturbance.
