Today, I was at lunch with my mom and we were talking about how to tell my brother that Santa Claus isn't real. After we finished our conversation, I heard someone crying. Little did I know, two little kids and their parents were sitting in the booth behind me. FML

Soo why are you going to tell your brother that Santa isn't real? Aren't people supposed to figure that out on their own?

Why would you need to tell them? let him believe as long as he wants to believe. Eventually he'll find out on his own.

YDI for not knowing that Claus is spelled WITHOUT an E. That was a damn movie! sheesh

Why not let him find out for himself? And if your discussing something like this, why not look around? I don't think this is a "FML" ... for you anyways. Poor kids!

I'm starting to wonder if some of the people commenting are old enough to be members on this site...

LOL at people who say OP deserves anything.

Why the hell are people saying kids should find out on their own? Not all kids are smart enough to figure it out. That's how we get 12 year olds who still believe in Santa. If you want to let your kids believe in Santa you should tell them before they go to school and look like morons in front of the other kids. On a related note: **** Christmas, **** Santa, **** "family time," and most of all **** Christmas music.

This comes from somebody who lives on the other half of the planet. When I was little I knew kids out there believe in this cuddly looking guy in red who supposedly brings them gifts on Christmas if they have been good all year, of course that guy didn't really exist and it was just their parents and I knew that but whatever it was a cute concept. I don't really think there's anything wrong in having little make-belief fantasy concepts but some of them should also be made as a family. For example, my dad would throw his shoe at the sky along with this crystal drop( extras that came with the chandelier) and tell me he's getting me a star. Now when I know better it's like whenever I think of this I smile and feel affection for my parents. It's kind of simpler this way, even if you know Santa isn't real and it was your parents all along Santa would still be this 1st thing you think of when you think about Christmas and presents.

I think that is absolutely adorable. And I agree.

Congratulations for solving the problem for those other kids' parents. And I agree it's best to let the kids' slowly come to the realization on their own that the stuff they're being told makes no sense and is all some kind of conspiracy by adults just to **** with their kids. It's good practice for when people start telling them about God.
