Today, I was at my girlfriend's house for dinner. Her mom gave me some seasoned cauliflower, which I didn't like. Not wanting to dissapoint my girlfriend's mom, I slipped the cauliflower of my plate and gave it to their dog. It turns out cauliflower gives their dog explosive diarrhea. FML

You're too young/immature for a girlfriend. YDI. If you're that desperate to please her mom, just choke down the food, and ask for drink refills to wash it down.

Just deny, deny, deny if they ask you about it. They can't pin it on you.

Hey, crazy_cat_lady24, a bit of advice to you. While you claim it was rude for this person to not eat something that was served to them, it can also be said that you are extremely out of order and obnoxious for calling the kid a rude and whiny child. That's just plain "bad manners." To quote: "Have YOUR parents never taught you good manners?" Oh, and you should think about what you write more. The sentence I quoted above (which you wrote) looks completely ridiculous. It would have been better grammatically to have written, "Were you never taught good manners?" This would work too: "Didn't your parents ever teach you proper manners?" "never taught you" just sounds stupid. Get with it already. And kid, I understand that you didn't want to hurt any feelings, but you could have just told them politely that you didn't care for that particular vegetable (or lied and said you were allergic, haha). You don't need to follow the social standard of eating things you don't like to satisfy another person. It's a preference thing, and other people should understand that and not take it personally when you say you don't like something; how were they to know before they cooked it? Take care, kiddo.

If someone cant eat something that he/she doesnt "like" and gives it to a dog then yes, he is a whiny retarded kid. FACT. protip: English is not everyone's first lenguage, now go be a grammar nazi somewhere else.

how I love it when people go on and on about how rude someone is, and how wrong and terrible that is, only to sound even more rude. really, it's very nice and mature and I'm so much more likely to listen to someone when they're acting like a five-year-old. thank you for that wonderful lesson on life. (: @OP: either suck it up and eat it or let it sit on your plate and tell her that you don't like it. it's really not so hard to do. I think that giving their dog diarrhea is worse than simply saying that you're not a huge fan of cauliflower. (;

stealthmuffin: I am not responding to anything you said. I just wanted to tell you that your username is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. This has no relevance to anything, I just wanted to tell you how much I love your username. Sorry for being insanely random. OP: Next time, just eat a few, and leave the rest on you plate. Say you aren't very hungry or something. But giving food to another person's pet is a bad idea. The dog could have been allergic or something, and you could have killed the poor thing. Just saying.

Andoverit, I was mostly reacting like that because the OP not only didn't eat the food, but he fed it to that dog. And it made the dog sick. I would be really angry if someone fed my dog something he's not supposed to eat and it made him sick. Oh, and I apologize sincerely for my horrible butchering of the English language. I'm sure your Dutch is a lot better than my English. From this day forth I will never speak or type English again as I see how much this upsets you.

Actually, your English was completely correct. I don't know what he's going on about.

I really don't mean this in a rude way but you really shouldn't say "a retarded kid". That's just really disrespectful and people might get offended. My dad is a psychiatrist and has spent his life helping those people. They go through a lot. Okay yeah so please don't take that the wrong way. I'm just saying.

You know, these days it seems you can't say anything without somebody being 'offended'. Just like you can't call people disabled anymore. They're 'physically challenged'. Damn you political correctness.

This comment is too long for me to thumb down...the mobile app has saved your comment. For now. Also, there's a point where being a grammar nazi just makes you look like an ungracious dick. Just saying.

I agree with number 13. You should've just said you didn't care for cauliflower. IMO YDI.

the phrase explosive diareah tends to be funny

At least YOU didn't get explosive diarrhea. And all you people complaining about this guy being picky about what he eats, shut up. If someone didn't want to eat something, he shouldn't have to "suck it up" and eat it anyways. Personally I would have asked my girlfriend if she wanted it or left it on my plate.

I didn't think people did that in real life :/

Chocolate and Califlower. These two things are posion to dogs. You are lucky you didn't kill it.

Cauliflower is ok for most dogs in moderation, more likely the seasoning part probably triggered the explosive reaction. But definately not cool to feed someone else's dog like you did. Just say no to cauliflower :P
