Today, I was at Target trying on swimsuits. I tried on a medium bottom and was so excited because it fit perfectly even though I've gained a few pounds. My self-esteem was at an all-time high until my mom told me I could never fit into a medium. I rechecked the tag. It was an extra large. FML

you should sit on your mom, that should teach her a lesson.

The size on the tag doesn't matter as long as the clothes fit well and you feel comfortable with the way you look.

Hotlobbies2, There are also these things called "eating disorders". And if you're going to claim that fat people can't have eating disorders, go do some research, please. Frankly, some people simply *can't* "control" that they're "fatties". And then there's other people, such as myself, who had to spend a couple months in residential treatment for my eating disorder because I was so damn afraid of being fat I couldn't keep my head of the toilet. BUT OMG I WAS SKINNY. I also had ridiculously low blood pressure, and a severe electrolyte imbalance, among other things, but I wasn't fat. YAY. Being skinny doesn't mean you're in "good shape", and having some cushioning on the butt and thighs doesn't mean you're fat (especially since that is where women tend to store fat and humans *need* fat to survive). People should be focusing on whether or not they are *healthy*, not if they can fit into 00's or mediums or larges. It doesn't matter. Some of my friends at residential were skinny as rails and were very near dropping dead because of it. And please stop assuming that everyone who defends "fat people" are fat themselves. Some of us just don't like to sit around while people like you go around insulting people left and right just because they can.

I would firstly like to say that if she is short, then a few pounds can in fact make the difference between medium and XL. Secondly, who cares what size you wear, its the attitude and if you feel good about yourself it shines through and people will be like "wow she looks good". As for all of you fat people haters grow the **** up ? Look, if you feel negatively about yourself, I honestly suggest trying hot yoga... you can pretty much go once a day for a month and drop 15 pounds, it also detoxifies your body and it will make you want to eat better. Dont worry about all of those people who tell you you shouldnt be wearing a bikini, as far as I know people didnt always want twigs, people still dont want twigs, voluptous is sexy. Besides... Marilyn Monroe was like a size 12, and shes the biggest sex symbol there is ;) Dont worry about it. And the size of the suit might be skewed anyways.

You shouldn't be in a two piece then. XL fatty.

LOL. But not really an FML. Sorry about your self-esteem though.

It should be illegal to make bikinis bigger than a certain size. Go run or diet instead of FMLing lol

Everyone, it's okay In the end all of these comments Are helpful to an overweight person Mean comments = everyone has different taste, obviously (But you don't need to be rude :) Nice & supportive comments= this world isn't completely full of assholes And honestly, I'd rather be large than ugly It costs more $$$ To turn from... Ugly->pretty Then Fat->skinny :)

ydi for shopping at target. jk jk. noone said it so i thought i would. aww its okay. i mean at target im a medium but i dont have a big butt and ive accepted that. but if your self concious about your size then try to do something about it. if your happy with your size then dont listen to these jerks who r calling you fat. also your moms kinda a bitch.
