Today, I was at Target trying on swimsuits. I tried on a medium bottom and was so excited because it fit perfectly even though I've gained a few pounds. My self-esteem was at an all-time high until my mom told me I could never fit into a medium. I rechecked the tag. It was an extra large. FML

you should sit on your mom, that should teach her a lesson.

The size on the tag doesn't matter as long as the clothes fit well and you feel comfortable with the way you look.

people need to stop ragging on the mom she was right after all. what was she supposed to do keep quiet and let her daughter lie to herself?

Don't sweat it. I just got large swim suit bottoms at Target and they are a little small on me. And I am most certainly not fat. XL is not that much bigger than large so you are not fat. Now if you were on like....xlllxlxlxlxlxllx. yea. you might wna to cut back on eating foods that are all fatty. No biggy. Youre not fat. There's just more of you to love. Haha.

If you've gained weight, why would you assume you could fit into a medium? Could you fit in one before? Not a big deal, though. Sizes run small nowadays. But maybe you should lose some weight? Run run run. :) But if you felt confident wearing the swimsuit, that's good. Even I don't feel confident in my clothes and I'm not fat. I wish I could have high self-esteem. Be happy.

YDI for being fat and shopping at target.

omg its okay for girls to have big butts, I think its hot

Well, I have to get an XL, too, but that's because I have really wide "birthing hips", as my mom calls them. It doesn't mean you're fat. Besides-- all you need to do to lose weight is eat right. If you're not doing anything all day, then PUT DOWN THE FORK.

I don't think you should feel bad at all. If you are self concious about it, then by all means excercise. If you aren't, then who cares. Wear what you want. Clothing sizes are all over the board anyways so what is a L one place could be an XL somewhere else, and a M at still another place. Be happy with who you are. Oh, and that was a rude thing for your mother to say.
