Today, I was at Target trying on swimsuits. I tried on a medium bottom and was so excited because it fit perfectly even though I've gained a few pounds. My self-esteem was at an all-time high until my mom told me I could never fit into a medium. I rechecked the tag. It was an extra large. FML

you should sit on your mom, that should teach her a lesson.

The size on the tag doesn't matter as long as the clothes fit well and you feel comfortable with the way you look.

#16: If the way other people look makes you suicidal you have some issues of your own. Otherwise, honestly it has too be more then "a few pounds" if you thought you could wear a medium and could only wear an XL. But if you did think you looked good, and you felt good then don't worry about the tag, or what everyone else is saying about "OMG YUR FAT NO SWIMSUIT FOR YOU!". Hell I only weigh 125lbs and I have to wear a large usually. Hips and ass are big factors in bottoms.

Also #283 weight gain isn't a sudden thing that happens over night, it's gradual. So no you can't really notice the difference of your movement because as you gain weight you adjust to moving around with the extra pounds.

#280.... you deserve to be publicly flogged. After working for a uniform company and seeing what a REAL medium looks like, its roughly the same size as an XL at most clothing stores..... maybe you should start eating 280, that way you can stop being such a moody beeeee-otch!

ANGELA!!!!!!!!!!!ahahah you fat piece of sh*t.. naw im just kidding FCK YOUR LIFE

can i just point out how sad it is that a lot of women measure self-respect by clothing size?

more cushion for the pushin' - ain't no shame in it girl. plenty of XLs are still hot.

if it makes youy feel any better i can be a size 3-7 and be anywhere between a medium and xl when it comes to bathing suit bottoms. Don't let it stress you out too much, girl sizes run funky sometimes, although most of the time it doesn't make us feel good just think to yourself "I LOOK GOOD, AND IT DOESN'T MATTER THE SIZE I JUST PUT ON"

not if she fat and wearing a two piece. thats just disgusting!!!
