#35 seems to have it right, I interpret it as "the guy wasn't even able to lift the bar." Double fail to this guy for not having a spotter and for being a pussy.
That's kind of pathetic.. I'm a 16 year old GIRL and my max for benching is 110. And really, why would you bench without a spotter?
this infuriates me. good luck in life bro.
I agree with 38, although 45 pounds is rather easy, most of the people who have commented would probably only be able to do like 5 of it if that hahaha and contrary to what most people seem to think here, (the ones who evidently have never benched before) benching 45 pounds is different than lifting it...
lmfao @ people "oh why didnt you have a spotter for the bar". That is like needing a spotter to carry a gallon of milk.
Not quite. Not only is the bar 45lbs (which OP obviously can't handle anyway) but OP also has never lifted before. Form is so important, and when you're on the bench, it's hard to see if you're lifting with proper form. For a novice, a spotter is necessary at any weight level so that they can build proper form.
Most blank bars weigh 25 lbs. That's kind of sad.

you dont deserve that bc it is my assumption that 98% of the population can lift a 45 lb barbell. 7-12 yr olds included. Spotter next time homeboy. Always when trying new exercises and eat that protein mix after workouts. Sounds like you need to gain some weight and muscle
Don't be so pathetic next time.
