To all the people who are sayin you should have a spotter, granted that is true on most weight. But 45lbs shouldnt even physically been able to kill you. And by some curse you actually cant do 45lbs and get pinned turn the bar side ways, theres no weight on it it'll just tip right off. Most of yall havnt benched before apperently.
troll.
Okay, seriously, to all the people laughing at OP for being unable to lift the bar - what good can that possibly do? Yes, it isn't that hard to lift the bar, but at least he's making the effort to improve, and making fun of him will only be a discouragement. By making fun of him for being weak, you're only making it harder for him to become strong. People like OP need understanding and encouragement, not derision and mockery! Have some decency!
Who the **** can't lift a 15 kilo bar.... This is a lie.
OK dude, some advice. Do NOT go back to the gym. That is ridiculously embarrassing. Do push ups and lift free weights at home. Get doing some chest presses, and work out your arms and chest. Do sit-ups to strengthen your core. I didn't start going to the gym until i could at least put one 35 plate on. Or if that doesn't interest you, go play some more XBOX live and threaten to beat kids up.
Keep tryin', dude. Getting pinned under the bar sucks, but as some have said, you've got to start somewhere. Try some pushups at home - you might also want to try holding yourself in plank (pushup) position with your arms; that will help your strength. There are a lot of other good bodyweight exercises that might help your arm strength and overall musculature. If you decide to continue doing something like this, make sure you've warmed up first. You can hurt yourself if you don't. If your friends were understanding about it, keep going to the gym. You'll make progress.
If he's a scrawny guy who's never lifted weights, played sports, or done manual labor, it's certainly possible to struggle with a 45 lb. bar--after all, the bench press doesn't have much resemblance to any motion you'll likely have to do in a typical day. It's a rather overrated exercise and not a very good measure of a person's strength. Still, not being able to push up the bar is a bad sign, and I'd suggest the OP try his hand at pushups (the girly variety if need be). He'll probably have to hit the machines to build up the strength to use free weights (or even do things like pull-ups or dips). Above all, the important thing is to have a balanced workout that does not neglect any bodypart.

you dont deserve that bc it is my assumption that 98% of the population can lift a 45 lb barbell. 7-12 yr olds included. Spotter next time homeboy. Always when trying new exercises and eat that protein mix after workouts. Sounds like you need to gain some weight and muscle
Don't be so pathetic next time.
