How did the parents not realize their children had a gaming console that was not their own?
The parents probably knew nothing about it.
What bothers me is that they sold the console. You just spent all night playing on it, and having the time of your life -- what reason would those children have to get rid of it?
I would say that just because they're young, doesn't mean they aren't jerks. They clearly don't respect the OP, and I think his username might be a hint as to why they might have done that.
U might be able to sue them if they don't get it back in the condition it was in, unless something is left in there house for 30 days it is still yours so they basically stole and sold it, and if it comes back damage you could sue for damage, so this is going to go one of three ways. 1) you get it back and all is fine. 2) you get it back but you never babysit for them since you don't trust them. Or 3) you don't get it back, you sue them, they fire you. And there is the off chance that they fire you and tell others not to hire you since you sue people in which case you can sue them for defaming you, (you can get a lot of money from suing someone for defaming you). If your a person who is not worried about money or is just that nice kind of person then you don't have to sue, I just wanted to let you know of the possibilities.
They owe you 10$ maybe their parents will add that to your payment
they cant legally do that. make sure the parebts get it back.
Forget the parents just reimbursing, I would make the kids pay you back out of their pocket money to teach them a lesson.
So technically you paid them to watch their kids

Ask the parents to reimburse you for it.
Hopefully the parents will get involved and fix it for you. If not, go to the parents of the kid who they sold it to.
