Today, I was babysitting a couple of kids. I'd spent time with them before, so I brought my video game console to play with them. I forgot to take it home with me. They soon sold it to another kid for $10. FML

Today, I babysat the neighbors’ evil kids. They dropped them over at my house and I played with them for five hours. After taking the brats back home and putting them to bed, their mother asked me what time I came back to the house. She only paid me for the 20 minutes I was in their house. FML

Tell the parents, find out who they sold it to, tell their parents what happened, make the kids give the money back, get your console back. That's assuming the only assholes involved are the kids.

Ask the parents to reimburse you if you can't get it back. If they say no, threaten to take them to small claims court. The threat will probably be enough to convince them to change their minds.
