Today, I was babysitting a couple of kids. I'd spent time with them before, so I brought my video game console to play with them. I forgot to take it home with me. They soon sold it to another kid for $10. FML

Ask the parents to reimburse you for it.

Hopefully the parents will get involved and fix it for you. If not, go to the parents of the kid who they sold it to.

Hope you get your items back, and hope that the other kids parents won't be jerks about it.

Explain what happened to the parents. See what they can do to help. If that doesn't work go to the parents of the kid who bought it. Often if you are calm and not aggressive the parents will want to help. If that doesn't work threaten to get the police involved, technically the children have bought and sold stolen items.

who were they selling it to GameStop? No but seriously go to the parents and explain the whole thing and hopefully they'll be cool about it

I'd say just ask them who they sold it to and explain the misunderstanding, just give the kid his 10 bucks back

Simple, go to parents, and as said explain. Since they are kids the parents are liable for their actions. So they should be helpfull. Then go to parents of the kid that bought it. Same deal in both cases the parents are responsible for the crimes of the kids. If one does not coorperate get the cops

This is kind of bogus to do to kids, but you can report them to the police in order to get it back.
