Does anyone else have those old people who seem frail and weak until there's a free seat on the bus and then they go full Ussain Bolt?
It's a generous thought so props to you op, but just because they're old doesn't mean they're disabled.
They didn't need the help you tried to force onto them. Please don't act on half assed assumptions or think that someone owes you for your intentions.
At times it may be better to leave things well enough alone...but just ask if they would like to have a little help...and they will always appreciate it but this case you must have come off negatively
It's sad that we have to live like this now smh
it's A shame that is what our society has been reduced to. Keep being the good person you are, there are more greatful than ungreatful people
I only hit "YDI" so the numbers would be 666.
A fair assumption on the couples part but I would have informed them my actual intentions before stalking away with the moral high ground and leave them to contemplate their unwitting rejection of help.

If only that line worked every time to prevent mugging. Kind of like "Swiper no swiping"
It's the thought that counts here OP. Not everyone is going to appreciate random acts of kindness.
