You don't need to be all negative towards your thighs. Guys love that shit.
It really doesn't take that much weight to make your thighs rub. I love dresses and skirts and mine do that something awful, so I've got some tips: Wear skintight exercise shorts under your dress (and when it's cold out, you can switch to leggings and it works great! Plus you don't have to worry about accidentally flashing people your undies). Or if you don't want to do that, use some body powder (I like the gold bond body spray). Actually the shorts tip is especially good if you like to wear stockings - wear them over the stockings and they pull them flush to you, so you don't get that sweaty, unprotected spot that inevitably burns within minutes.
Get "bandalettes", they are pieces of fabric that go around the thigh and come in lacy designs. They stop the chub rub supposedly.
As a Kilt wearer I have a top tip. Baby Powder.
When I go abroad I get this I call it chub rub talc powder helps! Don't worry it happens to us all x
Baby powder on your thighs when you leave the house helps that
I feel your pain OP :/
lose some weight
Totally normal!!! Especially if it's really been that long since you wore a skirt. I recommend getting a pair of "pettipants." It's a slip that's shorts instead of a skirt, so it will prevent chafing. Or just plain old bike shorts will do.

Hey you should still feel pretty!!! It doesn't matter your size, that happens to several people even if they're the skinniest person you've ever laid eyes on.
I've heard that a plain stick of deodorant can help with chafing etc... You go rock that skirt!
