You're a personal trainer. That doesn't stop you from working out. I don't see why they can't understand that.
I think you have grounds for wrongful termination.
This is certainly an issue you need to work out with your former employer, as you shouldn't have been fired.
Jobs don't really work like breakups, it's not like his old boss is going to check his facebook and get bummed when they realize their new job is at a better gym that pays more.
The only reason I can think this could apply is the friend was also a client at the gym were op worked and would be seen as giving free advice/service that they otherwise would've paid for. They see it as losing business.
Except they implied he was receiving money for his assistance.
He said he was working out with them, he didn't say he was training, what if his buddy was the one who got him into working out in the first place?
It kind of isn't. **** am I saying? It absolutely isn't. To be considered "under the table", he'd have to be asking money from his friends, which, from the wording of the FML, OP wasn't.
Not like thats any of ther business anyways. Nor against any laws or rules. Lol ridiculous. Guess they want u two goin to a different gym and give ur money to that gym lol
Sucks

Its not like your running a underground fitness club
Imagining this, I would think working out under the table would be quite difficult, let alone training someone else under the table with you.
