Ah, I've said it before, and I wll most certainly say it again... USA, the land where "Job Security" have no meaning, it doesn't even exist in the dictionary...
OP wasn't fired for "no stated reason", OP was fired for missing work. OP was in the hospital and was unable to go to work. The are grounds for wrongful termination here, even if it's "at-will" employment. OP should take their case to someone higher up, like the owner or regional manager and ask to be reinstated. Sue? Likely not worth it.
